How to register a trademark in Estonia? Foreign applicants must be represented before The Estonian Patent Office by a registered Estonian trademark attorney. Trademark registration process in Estonia

The Estonian Patent Office does not carry out checks about earlier rights during the examination. • the database eSearch plus which contains European Union trademarks (also valid in Estonia).

You should file your Application in Estonian. Each application may include one trademark. Separate applications should be filed, if you need legal protection for different versions of your trademark. You have to provide the following information:

- the request of the registration of your trademark,

- your name, address and other relevant information,

- a representation of your trademark,

- a list with the goods or services the trademark will represent,

- a description of your trademark regarding the color or if it is a three-dimensional sign.

The Estonian Patent Office will examine your documents and trademark.

A notice about the decision to register your trademark is published in the Estonian Trade Mark Gazette. Anyone can file an opposition against the registration of your trademark within 2 months from the date of publication.

If no opposition is registered, the Estonian Patent Office will register your trademark and issue a registration certificate.

A trademark in Estonia is valid for 10 years from the date of filing. The renewal of trademarks in Estonia is available for every 10 years after paying the renewal fee.
